Carpineto Mountain Refuge

Design Competition

December 2015
Carpineto, Italy

Finalist entry for the International Archistart Design Competition, in collaboration with Matthew Philbrook. This passively heated and cooled 215 sf structure utilized a manual mass wall to moderate seasonal temperature swings. This mountaineering shelter would be one of many along the difficult intricate Italian trail system through the Lepine Mountains, near the small village of Carpineto Romano.
